GRIP PATIENT ROADSHOW 

We would like to invite you to participate in the GRiP patient roadshow that will take place on October 22th 2015 in Helsinki Finland.

GRiP (Global Research in Pediatrics) is a European project that started in 2011 to facilitate the development, and promote the availability of medicines in children (www.grip-network.org)

During this day we want to provide an overview to  patient representatives on the topic of medicines research and development in children.

The main objective is to provide patient representatives with the knowledge they need to be able to inform themselves and the patients they represent as well as use this knowledge in present and future collaborations with researchers, doctors, nurses, pharmaceutical industry etc. on the topic of medicines for children.  

We are looking to invite patient representatives who have an interest in the topic of medicines for children – with or without having previous in dept knowledge on the topic.

This course will be given by Kalle Hoppu, Medical Director for the Poison Information Centre, Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS) and Associate Professor of Paediatric Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Helsinki. In collaboration with EGAN

The GRiP patient Roadshow is a one-day training workshop that will cover the following topics:

  • Why we need for research into medicines for children

  • Off label use of medicines in children

  • Basics of medicines development in children

  • Medicines safety in children

  • Regulatory and Legislative environment surrounding the development of medicines for children

  • How to involve children, parents and patient representatives in medicines development for children

 

Practical information

 

  • Location: Helsinki, Finland (exact location will follow after application)

  • Date 22 October, from 10.30- 16.00

  • Travel and accommodation expenses will be reimbursed, lunch will be provided onsite.

  • Language: English (our presenter is Finnish)

  • Number of participants: 10 to 15
