EURORDIS European Conference on Rare Diseases (ECRD)

Eurordis organises a two-day European Conference on Rare Diseases every other year. The conferences offer an opportunity to review progress and challenges in the many areas affecting people in Europe living with rare disease:
rare disease research
patient databases
clinical trials, therapies, and orphan drug development
European regulations and themes, such as patient mobility for health care services
patient groups and networks
accessing care, financial impact of rare disease, delays to diagnosis
national plans for rare diseases and country comparisons

These conferences bring together a wide spectrum of stakeholders, from patients and health professionals to policy experts and industry representatives. Patient groups make up nearly half of the attendance, and represent a wide variety of rare diseases. Speakers include leading European experts in rare disease: researchers and health care professionals, Members of the European Parliament, patient group leaders, orphan drug regulators, and other leaders in key fields.
